The characters are snobbish, cruel, agressive, insecure, lost in a world of doubts, narcissism and self-degrading. But they are also witty, articulated, sweet and really really funny. This film is a symbiosis between Bergman and Wes Aderson, showing this cruel yet human relationships with humor. Masculin féminin portaits filmed with elegant smooth camera movements cut with handheld cut with tableux-like shots. The actors portait complex characters and reach really moving scenes with great performances. All in all a great film from a great director.
