my favorite one's probably stranger than paradise, but yeah,i think that this one's got something bizarrely special. highly delightful.
Another Jarmusch I just couldn't get into (like Night On Earth, Coffee & Cigarettes, Stranger Than Paradise). His style seems tailor-made for me but here just feels very stifling. Instead of meandering or "slice of life" the narratives are just boring; the characters have the potential to be interesting, but the script feels first draft. The film has its moments, but not enough to justify 110 mins of screentime.
Train I ride is sixteen coaches long Well, that long black train take my baby and gone...... Elvis has left the building
Similar to Night On Earth, but not quite as naturally beautiful, is no less interesting and engaging. More about the place than the people, but if you want to feel that place it is just what is needed.
Magnificent film by Jarmusch. A lot of funny moments in the reception of the hotel.

The inane synopsis for this brilliant film is proof that great art defies easy summarization.
It gets so far on "style and cinematography", as Jim W put it, that I was able to watch a copy that did not have subtitle files (I understood next to nothing besides what I was able to ascertain from body language and linguistic tones), and it was, by far, the most enjoyable Jim Jarmusch movie I've seen aside from "Night on Earth".
When I rented this, I couldn't get English subtitles to work. Considering it was a Jarmuch flick, I even considered that this was not a technical problem but rather an artistic choice. I'm still not sure. But even not understanding the languages of the 1st two films, I thoroughly enjoyed it. If someone has seen this with subtitles, let me know. I'd like to watch it again.
mystery train. One of the best of Jarmusch.Maybe this film ain't a masterpiece or it doesn't have the excellent performances but I'm sure is a tru independent absurd thing that I love watchin'.The second story isn't that strong but overall good. What to say about the other two stories?By the way the music is on the other level
