Napoleon Dynamite: "You wanna play me? "
Saturday with American indie-pop. First...
I've caught you a delicious bass.
Napoleon's an early hipster, Pedro's the man!
Obviously, this is a film you either get or don't. It's eccentricity was just sublime to me, almost like a new form of surrealism made out of American popular culture. It's just a delight to watch.
Probably one of the greatest cultural landmarks of the 2000's, insane merchandising capitalization be damned.
I guess I just didn't get it. The characters all look bored, so how am expected to be otherwise?? The monotone got grating very quickly, and the (intentional, I suppose) lack of energy or excitement or emotion makes for one dull, boring movie.
I don't care what anyone says... but the school dance scene got to me. It's really upsetting how there are kids who experience things like that.
Really laughed hard at this film and I really enjoyed it. I like the way how Napoleon and Pedro seem to be gormless throughout and how despite the fact there could have been more swearing in this film then in a Roy Chubby brown tour, there wasn't, which added to the charm of this film
I totally agree Kelvane. I do like the rest of the movie, but that dance is fabulous.
Is it just me, or is the dance scene in the middle of this movie legitimately sublime? I love that part, the rest is okay.
HAHAHA its so bad its good.
I just don't get this movie.
no es que la vi completa pero merece 3 por el bailecito del vago ja
It's always a bad sign not only when mormons produce any sort of movie project but when it becomes the stuff that all the hot topic kids/wiggers/jock homos at your school begin to quote it on a daily basis. I mean I'm all for high school unity but if that's the case then school shootings don't get enough credit either.
this movie is funny that isn't at the same time
Odd humor that somehow connected with a wide audience wrapped with a perversely dark underbelly few really appreciate. A distinctly Mormon voice intelligently delivered and of course, damn funny. Time will prove me right.
Quirky, pointless, uncommon, random, yet lovable!
I have but one thing to say about this movie...
DO NOT WANT.
it is one of the most stupid movies i have ever watched
Dreadful. The best scene is when the cow is shot and all the students on the bus are shocked. I wish they shot Jon Heder.
I have seen this movie 38 times and every time I love it more and more.
I realize a lot of people hate on this film but I was 11 years old when it came out, so I think I'm always going to remember it as a childhood-defining film.
This movie is its own brand of unique hilarious humor...like anyone can even know that...
I could not like ND. It didn't seem thought out. Just randomness thrown together on a first draft with MTV money behind it. It does have funny moments but otherwise is a giant music video under a somewhat cohesive plot.
Lafawnduh!
for those who liked it/did not liked it i recommend Eagle Vs.Shark.
I can't take his facial expressions.
