cool story bro
The only thing I can complain about is the old lady sometimes. Otherwise that was amazing. Dat score hnnngggg
This lovingly introduced me to the medium of anime and I was completely blown away by it when I saw it back in 2006. I can't describe how much I love this film in so few words. This feels like an artifact that was unearthed from ages ago. Nausicaa is a character that all girls should aspire to be, flaws and all. Of all of Miyazaki's masterful output, this is still his magnum opus that has yet to be topped. Watch it!!
Not my favorite Miyazaki film. I feel as though the film suffers from the same problem as Inception: it explains everything. The animation is not as good as his subsequent films, but the film itself is strong. The characters can be assigned in typical Miyazaki archetypes, and I love it. A young girl on a quest and an older, villanous woman. I think the complex Kushana is my favorite character.
Beautiful, beautiful animation, but the world of Nausicaa is a great deal less complicated, more rudimentary and less fascinating than the later films. Nausicaa narrates the magic, leaving little to discover or guess. A really nice film though! Always pleasant.
A great deal darker than his other work. This is a simply fantastic with more ideas than about 20 Sci Fi films.
Absolutely one of the best films of all time. #2 Best Animated Film of All Time.
I'm not the best person to talk about Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's works, because I tend to like them all, but I think Nausciaä is a remarkable animation, specially if you think about the year of its production. Although Miyazaki changed things from the Graphic Novel, I have no problem in appreciating them both. Nausicaä was the first Studio Ghibli film to be scored by music composer Joe Hisaishi, whom I admire immensely!
oh my god, Nausicaa doesn't wear panties! :O [/silly comment] Other than that, she's awesome \o/
Utterly incredible graphic novel probably the best fantasy every written in my opinion. Film falls very short which is why MIYAZAKI SHOULD MAKE A SERIES OF MOVIES OF HIS MIYAZAKI MANGA INSEAD OF MAKING FILMS OF HALF-ASSED ENGLISH FANTASY WRITERS!! (Alexander Key and Jonathan Swift excluded of course - except Swift was Scottish I know) Still, soundtrack to this film is supernaturally amazing.
Maybe my least favourite Miyazaki movie. Problem is, I read the manga first and went bonkers (one of the best pieces of graphic art i've read) then saw the film and was very disappointed with the changes in the story. Still it's Miyazaki, it's worth watching.
