Night of the Hunchback

Long considered a masterpiece of Iranian cinema, writer-director Farokh Ghafari’s dark farce chronicles the misadventures of a traveling theatrical troupe trying to dispose of the corpse of one of its own after a tragic yet comical accident. Based on a tale from the classic anthology &NFi;The Thousand and One Nights&NFi_;, the film — replete with sight gags and wacky misunderstandings — is funny in any language.
