Nothing to Declare is a Franco-Belgian, Romeo and Juliet comedy, starring Dany Boon and Benoît Poelvoorde. Ruben (Poelvoorde) and Mathias (Boon) are two customs agents living in the same village, but working on opposite sides of the border. Ruben is Belgian and comes from a family where hating all things French is an ancestral tradition. Mathias is French and is secretly romantically involved with Ruben’s sister Louise (newcomer Julie Bernard). With the advent of the European Union, borders are abolished and customs agents on both sides have to work together. Mathias volunteers to work in the first Franco-Belgian team, hoping to befriend the irritable Ruben and reveal his love for Louise. – COL•COA
Inferior to Boon's previous effort, Bienvenue Chez Les Chtis, in every way. When I watched Bienvenue Chez Les Chtis, every minute I wished it wouldn't end, but this movie made me feel otherwise. Still an enjoyable movie.
