Sally Potter’s inventive, vibrant and visually sumptuous adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s 1928 novel is the ideal vehicle for Tilda’s exquisite versitility as metrosexual maverick poet Orlando. If you could only have one DVD in your timecapsule or your desert island retreat, make it this one.
The story is endlessly enduring and engaging. The characters are unusual and compelling. The costumes and set pieces are perfect. In short it is a love-letter to the English language and literature.

I rented this film because of Tilda Swinton’s involvement. Well fortunately, I ended up getting one hell of a great film as well.

Sally Potter and her cast and crew captured me with this wonderful atmosphere and beautiful images. I was completely swept up in this world.
There was no sense of this world just being on film. I felt like it was real the whole time.

Tilda Swinton gave a great performance as Orlando, one she should be proud of. She’s certainly one of the finest actresses working in the film industry.

Sally Potter’s direction is great, the cinematography is wonderful and the story is most interesting. In fact I still don’t know exactly what went down. But I loved watching it take place.

This film was certainly a great surprise. It won me over instantly.

I don’t normally openly recommend films in my reviews, but I am so excited by this film that I’d like to do so now. SEE THIS FILM!!!
