Oscar Brahim makes his living by driving a taxi twelve hours a day, throughout the crowded streets of Buenos Aires. Along this time, he is constantly invaded by street advertisement pollution. In the trunk of his car, he carries some cut outs, bottles of glue and a pair of scissors. As soon as the flag of his taxi turns to “empty”, he pulls over, borrows somebody’s ladder and starts to work with his elements on publicity posters, using collage and painting techniques. The documentary portrays two years in Oscar’s life and how the originality and the strength of his production raises the interest of academic groups and the attention of the media. In the meanwhile Argentina’s crisis deeply affects Oscar’s reality, but he keeps on offering resistance with his artwork. —riff.it
