Timothy Dunphy (Shawn Hatosy) must deal with a broken home, a three-legged dog and a full-blown attraction to trouble. But when his dad enrolls him in prep school, things get even worse! You might half-expect a gross-out comedy from a Farrelly Brother (Dumb and Dumber, There’s Something About Mary), but Outside Providence (adapted from Peter Farrelly’s debut novel) is funny and thoughtful, with touches of 1970s nostalgia.
