Pao's Story

When Pao’s (Do Thi Hai Yen) stepmother dies in an accident, the young Hmong woman sets out to find her real mother in this sentimental look at the universal meaning of love and family set among a rarely seen culture and filmed in the stunning highlands of Vietnam. As Pao gets closer to the woman who abandoned her as a baby, she uncovers a long-buried secret and must come to terms with her complicated feelings for all three of her parents.
