Tomer Heymann’s documentary is a revealing glimpse into one society’s population of outcasts: transgender Filipinos, who are among a group of international guest workers filling critical gaps in the Israeli job market. Tragically shunned by their families and communities, these caring individuals fill many vital roles in their adopted country and want nothing more than to belong, but will always be treated as outsiders.
