I know most people will hate me for saying this but, here we go: I REALLY REALLY DIDN’T LIKE this movie!!! For me this was like a never-ending, cheezy Coca-Cola commercial that was trying to sell me something that I really don’t need!!! Most of the stories were shallow, uneventful, and meaningless. I was especially very disappointed by Gus Van Sant’s short movie… His films usually blow my mind away and make me go back to them again and again to try to grasp the full philosophical meaning of the film…His film here: boy meets boy, he is too shy, then he overcomes his shyness =Happy End!!!! Yay!!!! What a deep message to give!!!! Even Christopher Doyle’s was disappointing and I was expecting to be blown away by his visuals. I was barely interested in his story, nor cared about it…I wish the movie concentrated more on the horrible tragedies that are going on every day in this so-called, City of Love: Paris, the stories like we have seen in the films like “La Haine” or “The Class” or “Irriversible”, instead of trying to sell this formulaic pack of love stories that all take place in (surprise!) Paris!!!!
Though, I love the story with the Vampires :)
