predictable but remarkable.
La dovete smettere di fare film così
the acting left me speechless, the proof that you can get revenge by doing something different than pulling teeths with a hammer.
Despite making one hundred minutes feel like a lifetime, this restrained revenge film is quite good. Tortured characters, minimal sets, and simple cinematography make for a formally straightforward but emotionally devastating viewing. Definitely recommended viewing for fans of the director, but certainly not a standard Korean "revenge film" by any stretch.
If this is a masterpiece, then what is not a masterpiece?
Prefer dreamlike sequence than twist...Great acting nonetheless.
Incredible Ugliness, Beautifully Filmed. I'm still trying to decide whether I see the climax of this as profound, or a sick joke. (or both? A profound joke?)
Il finale è agghiacciante, il resto è bello, magari un po' troppo freddo ma a tratti molto disturbante e genuinamente cattivo e disperato.
Not impressed (though I'm a KKD fan), this one lacks depth.
Unfairly labeled a provocateur and nothing more, Kim Ki-Duk's new film is not only incredibly brave, but deeply moving.
Take Lars Von Trier, add some Park Chan-wook, a dash of Iñárritu. Mon dieu! Épater la bourgeoisie! I recommend Mario Monicelli's An Average Little Man (1977) over this travesty of a film.
Even before the first image of an ominously hanging, rusty hook, Pieta comes to CPH PIX Film Festival with a great deal of infamy. The latest from South Korean, art-house provocateur Kim Ki Duk (3-Iron, The Isle) is a gritty, harrowing and wholly engrossing exercise in cinematic tolerance.

Because a sociopath is supposed to have some life-changing epiphany after raping someone he thought was his mother? I may call it a poor man's OLD BOY if I'm feeling generous.
it really is a shame, a good idea that fell short. a disappointment.
stunning at the ending! really fucked up
what a stupid film ı have ever seen...
plot and min-soo's acting are flawless.
