Synopsis

Seeking escape from his stalled relationship and unhappy place in the world, a recently pink-slipped music teacher sets out to hike Kentucky’s Sheltowee Trace Trail. Among the verdant hills of Appalachia, he encounters various strange characters and becomes the reluctant companion of a gregarious father and son who ultimately help him rediscover what he’s been missing. –SXSW

Strangely affecting film about a newly unemployed music teacher, who sets out to hike the Sheltowee Trace Trail. Along the way, he meets a series of unique characters whose unlikely friendship leads him to unspoken realizations about the direction of his stagnant life. A kind of folksy mix of Homer's "The Odyssey" and Thoreau's "Walden," PILGRIM SONG is a drolly beguiling road comedy with an unusual sense of humor.
