Pina Bausch

An overview of the first lady of dance theatre with footage from most of her major works. The film reflects on the early years, beginning when Bausch took up the post as ballet director in Wuppertal in 1972.

In this film, Pina Bausch retraces the beginnings of the Tanztheater and the path she felt she had to follow, despite many difficulties and injuries. For the first time in a long while she talks about rehearsals, her pieces, her co-productions and being on tour. Includes revealing interview footage with Pina and her star dancers.
