the soundtrack, and the fact that the cast is rather fabulous, are what keep this film slightly more charming than it is corny. this is a good looking and great sounding flick with many genuinely funny moments, but it’s also overlong and about as deep as a shot glass (not that that’s necessarily a bad thing). check it out if you’re a real rock ‘n’ roll lover who is delighted merely to wallow in the rich sights and sounds of a time and place you were perhaps lucky enough to experience, but if you expect any more than that, don’t say i didn’t warn you.
