Synopsis

Tanger. The common life of a modest family in a working class area. Saïda is 16 and her brother 13. They live with their older sister, a cleaning lady in an attorney office in the middle of the town. The attorney despite the social difference is generous and open minded. He is a Democrat who wants to be an outsidee candidate. His son Hicham spends more time driving his 4 wheel drive than studying. One night Hicham follows Saïda on her way home after she pays a visit to her mother at work. He forces her to get into the car and rapes her. The young girl is shocked, she does not say a word and remains still in her room… —Amiens International Film Festival

Jillali Ferhati

Born in 1948 in Morocco, Jillali Ferhati completed his studies in sociology. He is regarded as one of the most important talents in the Moroccan “nouvelle vague” and his films have received wide critical acclaim and numerous awards.
