This movie is pure asurrealist awesomeness. At times it's just overwhelmingly hilarious and the ending is impressively heartbreaking. Takahata should work way much more than he does.

this is probably my most favorite non-Miyazaki Ghibli movie. I watched it by slipping into an advance class I haven't take, so carelessly enjoying it among all the seniors' staring.
