Human and Nature. I love Miyazaki's message in every animated movie that he made
It is magical! The mood and setting are perfect and a great example of Miyazaki. However, the pacing and exposition seem off. As though something were missing. It does not feel like a whole story. But the characters are really likable, and in true Miyazaki fashion, even the bad guy manages to win over your heart.
This is completely irrelevant, but I only just heard now that The Nostalgia Critic is apparently going to review this film for his 200th episode tonight.....Okay. What.

Miyazaki regresa un poco a las historias sencillas, despues de un par un poco mas complejas para el publico infantil. La historia es una variante de la historia de Hans Christian Andersen, con muchas referencias sintoistas.
And for the records this is the first movie I have seen in my new place. This very simple story about friendship and loyalty turns into a masterpiece under the expert hands of Miyazaki. As a child, I always thought that I would watch cartoons on TV even when I grew up. I may not have kept my promise but this movie was a good reminder of my good old childhood days.
The most fun i've ever had with almost no plot in sight. And of course, pretty fucking cute.
This is my 7th Miyazaki movie.... is there anything he can't do? I feel like every film I see by him is ingenious.
Something about Studio Gibli movies always keeps me on the brink of crying despite the overly cute and always upbeat nature of the storytelling. The eponymous Ponyo is more than a little freaky when she's "in between" (I won't spoil it) and reminded more than once of some chimeric chicken fish fried asian dish. Still, a great film if you've got 90 mins to spare and need to have a nice relax.
How the hell are The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and Public Enemies related films?
It's not Hayao's best work, since Nausicaa and Howl's Castle is infinitely better.
Totalmente infantil y llena de sentimientos, una delicia para los que nos gusta el mar.
