It’s interesting to see a film like this avoid the obvious of route of titillation and gore in favour of a more dramatic narrative, but the fact that it is still restricted to a conventional slasher film structure that only works with those exploitative tropes, undermines its chances and reduces the drama to uninteresting and dull writing.
