Protecting the King

Based on the life of co-writer and director D. Edward Stanley, this revealing drama tells the tale of David Stanley — stepbrother of the one and only Elvis Presley — who, at 16, was hired as the King’s personal bodyguard. Joining Presley on the road, David (Matt Barr) witnesses firsthand the madness and excess surrounding his legendary brother and tries desperately to find the balance between serving Elvis and protecting him from himself.
