Synopsis

Shot in 1977, Punking Out is a documentary about CBGB and the bands that made it a landmark in the development of punk. Featuring live performances by and interviews with The Dead Boys, a wee little Lydia Lunch, CB’s owner Hilly Kristal, and the Ramones, the movie captures a unique moment in New York history through interviews with droopy-eyed audience members on such topics as the media’s obsession with punks, CB’s new-found popularity, and the joys of sniffing glue. —http://www.wither.org
