The first sequel in Bond history (don’t bother seeing it if you haven’t seen Casino Royale, it carefully ties up that film’s loose ends) and the first left-leaning film in the history of a traditionally Imperialist and conservative enterprise. The sub-Bournean editing deforms the first few action scenes and there’s no romantic chemistry between Bond and Camille, but the picture is genuinely innovative in context of the Bond series, which by now is a universe of its own.
