Although I haven’t seen a lot of Kurosawa’s films, I am going to go out on a limb and say this was the most epic. My favorite part about Kurosawa’s directing is the way he shots his battle scenes. He shoots them as if they are really happening, taking angles and shots that are fancy or invasive. Not only does this give the viewer the feeling that these battles are actually happening, but it also gives the impression of the confusion and ugliness of the battle, especially since they are extreamly smoky and chaotic whenever a battle in a Kurosawa movie takes place. Beautiful movie.
