Complete opposite of Double Indemnity. A cute little romantic comedy with a few dark streaks. Barbara Stanwyck had such range.
A wonderful Christmas film written by the great Preston Sturges. Although it may not maintain it the whole way through, in my opinion the first 30 minutes or so of this are as good as the best Preston Sturges-directed work that would be made in the next decade.
She is so great in this film. She lifts MacMurray up, as she did in her other films with him.
Such a lovely film, with one of Stanwyck's absolute best performances.
