Since I adore anti-drug/alcohol advertisements for their blatant manipulation, hysterical heavy handedness and eagerness to wallow in the very filth they condemn, this was like a dream come true for me. An exquisitely filmed after school special. ASS TO ASS! ASS TO ASS!

A little uneven during many segments, and the character of Tyrone was superfluous.

Aronofsky non sbaglia un colpo. Una tempesta allucinogena! Aronofsky does not miss a beat. A storm hallucinogenic!

i re-fell in love with jennifer connelly when i saw this movie. it wasnt the double-sided dildo scene, believe it or not. it was the scene where her & jared leto are just laying down, looking up, talking to each other. that, and the elevator scene between them (im blanking - was there an elevator scene? maybe it was just in the hallway before pulling the fire alarm) . and the scene on the rooftop.

There are no words to describe Ellen Burstyn's excellence in this movie. Aronofsky is a great director because as technically groundbreaking as he is, he never forgets how important good performances are.

Très bon mais tout aussi éprouvant et anxiogène. Se sentir aussi mal à l'aise après un film - ou ressentir une autre émotion quelle qu'elle soit avec autant d'intensité - c'est aussi ça le but du cinéma.

You know a lot of high schoolers would stop doing drugs if this was shown in health classes rather than reading about what bad things drugs do to your body. Aronofsky actually showed us what drugs do to you and how addicts go to extremes to get the drugs. Really freaked me out and I have never been affected a by a film so strongly before.

really disliked this one....It starts with these gimmicks and it's style over substance .it begins to disgust and shock you more and more to give it some depth.Makes you feel icky...Atmosphere shouldn't come from banging the viewer's head

When dealing with a subject matter of this magnitude it's completely necessary to present it in the most brutal way you can. This film accomplishes this and so much more. It wrecked me. It's not a classic movie, it's not even a good movie, it's a movie that is demanded to be seen.

Profoundly moving and thought provoking and fantastically shot. If you can stomach a film with both a Wayans brother and Jared Leto.

I felt like the movie's made for those weeping notes; requiem for shooting such a miserable music video:( The tragedy's way too much exaggerated and there was a problem with the tempo; too many shots chasing one another, as if someone's chasing after the director. Not quite different from 60's Turkish movies except from the rapid edits; tiny violins and the handkerchief

Instead of those "Don't Do Drugs" slogan shits, I hope every high school will show this film to show the great cause of addict on drugs, chocolate, diet pills, and television. Yes, you heard me fatties. Diet pills!! ;p

I found it kind of scary in a way. It's not really supposed to be per se, but there's something about this that's awesomely twisted. The music, the cinematography, and the general flow of events is intense and sort-of distorted in a way, like a dream really. Now, back to the cinematography, I really don't think I've seen a film with such finesse, style, or craftsmanship since I saw Kubrick's 'A Clockwork Orange', so big thumbs up for Darren Aronofsky. Besides that, Ellen Burstyn did a incredibly good job as the mother. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. May be added to my list of favorite movies even.

I wasn't impressed with how this film was executed and to be frank, I didn't like it. But the fact that most of the people were affected by the film( people were discouraged to do drugs after seeing requiem) makes it good enough. I respect it but I am not a fan

This movie will teach us something we did not already know. It traumatized me in both good way and bad way. This is DEFINITELY a shock therapy about drugs. This movie isn't about entertainment, this is an important movie and will probably change and saves some life. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I watched it.

A perfect depiction of how drugs can turn life into free-fall madness that offers nothing but insufficient hope. Requiem for a Dream is delirious and invigorating with an exceptional achievement in contemporary storytelling.
