Ridin' on a Rainbow

Gene Autry (as himself) and his sidekick Frog (Smiley Burnette) set out to capture two bank robbers and wind up on a showboat in this entertaining Western. When clues seem to point to the showboat’s clown, Pop Evans (Byron Foulger), as an accomplice in the robbery, Gene and Frog try to pry information from Pop’s young daughter, singer Patsy (Mary Lee). The Autry songfest includes “Be Honest with Me,” which was nominated for an Academy Award.
