Synopsis

In this amusing British short, John Cleese portrays a bass player who winds up wandering the countryside naked with a princess after a thief steals their clothes while they’re skinny-dipping. Smychkov (Cleese) arrives early to play at the princess’s (Connie Booth) engagement ball and takes a dip in the river. When he meets up with the princess, he tries to help her sneak back into the castle. The film is based on a short story by Anton Chekhov.
