I'll disagree with everyone saying it isn't artistic. It is! The camera work is fluid and mesmerizing and the metaphoric imagery at the end is great. The story and acting is abysmal though.
I totally agree with Raven. This movie is an unsuccessful attempt at being artistc. It's actually a pretentious version of the chilean "EN LA CAMA", (wich I like much better, by the way). Both plots are basically the same. "Room in Rome", along with "Caothic Ana" (a caothic film), really disapponted me, because I do appreciate Medem's earlier movies ("Sex and Lucia", "The Lovers of The Polar Circle", etc).
I've seen worse remakes but it's still a mediocre piece of filmmaking from a Spanish natural. Anaya's a chameleon but the theatrical structure of the film doesn't conceal Medem's fetishism of watching a lesbian romp.
Disappointed, simply dissapointed except for Elena Anaya's performance which is brilliant.
