This deliberately melodramatic story is mainly set in and around a gaudy nightclub owned by Dulzura (Juan Luis Galiardo), an entrepreneur with political connections. Dulzura’s mistress, Rosa (Jiminez), a faded, but powerful chanteuse, is the club’s chief attraction. Rosa is secretly having an affair with Marcos (Abel Rodriguez), a young gigolo, while outside, unrest that will eventually bring Fidel Castro to power is spreading. —Variety
