In a juvenile prison, Rosie tells her story…

Rosie is a bright 13-year-old living in an impoverished housing project with her young mother Irene. Irene pretends to be Rosie’s elder sister and forbids her the word “mom” in order to keep with her a possible lover and companion. In an attempt to make sense of her complex world, Rosie creates a bright and imaginative alternative reality with her one and only friend Jimi. In this reality, Rosie would have her own baby and she would call him Elvis. And nobody would be allowed to break her dreams…

When fantasy goes too far, tragedy ensues. Rosie, confused and desperate, goes to the limits of a dreamed life.
