After escaping from a sadistic relationship with an international crime boss (Corrado Pani), the tragically beautiful Anna (international sex symbol Edwige Fenech) begins a healthy new life, far from her abusive past. But when her old flame comes looking to reclaim her, she’ll have to fight him with everything she has. Italian filmmaker Giuliano Carnimeo directs this sexy, exploitative drama, a cult favorite with European audiences.
Giuliano Carnimeo (born 4 July 1932) is an Italian director and screenwriter, sometimes credited as Anthony Ascott.
Born in Bari, Carnimeo started his career as assistant director for, among others, Giorgio Simonelli and Camillo Mastrocinque. He made his directorial debut as co-director, alongside George Sherman, of the international co-production Panic Button, later focused on genre films, especially spaghetti westerns and commedie sexy all’italiana. —Wikipedia
Starts off as a gangster movie but then shifts into soap opera mode, a fairly bland (and sleazy) version of "country girl hooks up with no-good-thug from the city." The featurette suggests that the producers were trying to create a completely different kind of role than the ones Fenech was known for at the time. Which they did, sort of (I guess). (FYI: the a/v quality on the NoShame disc is alright, not great.)
