Would be too sad when an individual compares Soderbergh's recents with this movie. Unfortunately, it is easy to conclude that Soderbergh is another wasted American talent...

I thought this film was really interesting by it's portrait on couple's insight of sex and how humans react to it in the different levels. Every character was well thought of and brilliantly portrait on this most excellent screenplay about human interactions. I did feel the movie was slow and pasty, not because it was bad but how the scenes were created and how it was given to us, so I have mixed feelings about this.

Back when Soderbergh cared more about human experiences and themes instead of stylistic and editorial gimmicks. This first film of his is his one and only masterpiece.

No hay nada de lo que me pueda quejar en esta película, incluso encontré ciertos elementos de identificación con mi vida que obviamente parcializan mi opinión al respecto de la misma. En todo caso, el desarrollo de la trama y los giros dramáticos son tan sutiles que más que una "película" en todo el sentido de la palabra, parece más como un retrato. El uso de tomas largas y fijas a veces le da un feeling de retrato.

I swear I have LIVED in the rooms of these characters; Giacomo's naked studio apartment, Spader's tiny kitchen, MacDowell's and Gallagher's wall-to-wall carpet bedroom. Of course I haven't, but the spaces appear so very clear to me years after watching the film. Bizarre, never experienced anything quite like it. The pacing is FANTASTIC, the music sort of numbing and it's just so terribly and softly erotic.
