Nick Cassavetes

Scion of renowned maverick director John Cassavetes and extraordinary actress Gena Rowlands, Nick Cassavetes was an actor for over a decade before he added writing and directing to his Hollywood repertoire. Born and raised in New York, Cassavetes appeared in two of his father’s films, Husbands (1970) and A Woman Under the Influence (1974), while growing up. Before he made unabashed sop like The Notebook, Cassavetes Jr. flouted some more interesting sensibilities with this film, which not undeservedly walked away with dual honours at Cannes. Written by father John, this heartfelt and entertaining tale of crazy love is one directed with verve, what with stylish, engaging cinematography, and acted with a lot of heart, especially from leads and then real-life couple Penn and Robin Wright.

the actors are all great and if John Cassavetes had had these actors and directed this, it would probably have been a great film.
