Es imposible no pensar en Magnolia cuando se ve esta pelicula.
Proto-Magnolia. Not as grand or emotionally brutal, but the interwoven narrative threads are just as captivating.
The only reason this doesn't work is because it's so inferior to the Raymond Carver stories that you are constantly aware of what's been lost.
Genialidad.
I guess this is one of those hate it or love it type films? 'Cause personally I hated it . . .
oh i can def see that. some are def better than others! but with clown balloons and birthday cakes i'll take that mixed bag haha
Just watched this and it was pretty good. I'm just kind of confused by one thing, so spoiler, why did the pool cleaner character kill that girl with a rock at the end? It seemed out of character, but maybe I missed something..
I think it was because of all his pent-up sexual frustration/rage/jealousy caused by his wife's job.
Feels so emotionally and psychologically real. One of the best American films of the 90's.
A splendid kaleidoscope of Los Angeles dwellers. All of the stories connect, but they do so in some of the oddest, most unexpected ways. Quite a wonderful film.
That last scene was fucking brutal but brilliant. Chris Penn and Robert Downey Jr. really stole the show with that one. Julianne Moore was great and looking wonderfully beautiful as a sexy young lady. The stories have a certain element of verisimilitude that really attracts me to the film: I think, overall, the film speaks to the human condition. I saw echoes of Bergman throughout. Am I crazy?
Very well done. I believe Carver would have been impressed. Would not suggest as an introduction to anyone unfamiliar with Altman, but that doesn't mean I don't recommend it. Every performance is beautiful.
it's the most exciting cast ever.i'm gonna see it again tonight.damn.like a huge delicious piece of raspberrry cake...
A great film. Worth it for every performance, but especially Tim Robbins as a sleazeball cop.
Nice and interesting mosaic - when you look at the parts. Altogether, it just didn't click for me.
