Look at that, we agree.
This movie reminded me of my early teens so much. Specially the clothing and the haircuts. I even knew a girl who looked like Agnes who may have been my first girl crush. Who knows? Johan also reminds me of my first proper boyfriend, really looks like him! Really great film. One of my new favourite films I think.
My favourite coming-of-age film. I love the literal take of "coming out of the closet" too. The whole film was just perfect, and is the only film in this genre that I have seen that actually transports me back to my own adolescence, whether this is the generation its set in, or the fact that I also grew up in a small town, I'm not sure. Just perfect. I love this film a lot.
Too bad I'm not a lesbian or a teenager. This movie makes it look really fun.
Best movie about teenagers I've seen since Dazed and Confused. Two girls go lezbo in highschool, as framed by the deeply religious Christianity of the director. Moodysson could teach Wes Anderson A LOT about using pop/rock music on your soundtrack.
Somewhat disappointing, but I didn't finish it. Typical lesbian coming-of-age grit. Predictable.
Movie that is allot more than just the story about puberty, love, popularity and loneliness. It deals also with questions like acceptance of different, tolerance, the family barriers, the questions of life, family and society socialization and more.. And the performances of Swedish kids are amazing.
My first film by Lukas Moodysson was a very good one. Sfter reading about it in My First i: Take Two, I had to check it out for myself. It was a very good film, indeed, about the pressures of love and how things are not always as they seem.
Christ, this film even makes Foreigner sound touching. Something's got to be said for that.
This one has stuck with me. It's awash with raw realism and an authentic angst, while keeping a tempered sentimental heart. Best first kiss ever!!!
