"The Internet brings me closer to the world, but further from life." Sounds like my favorite aphorism.
Enjoyable moments, intercalated with riveting images of concrete, steel and glass. Review and Rating: http://alwayswatchgoodmovies.blogspot.com/2013/02/sidewalls-2011.html
Reminiscent of Mark Webb's 500 Days of Summer and Johnnie To And Ka-Fai Wai's Turn Left, Turn Right. I love it!
A arquitetura das grandes cidades e os amores modernos. Um filme de metáforas mais do que bem estabelecidas!
Absolutely delicious. A must-see for architects. Unlike Sean Ellis' "Cashback" (2006), the transition from short to full length feature did not hurt "Sidewalls". This puts most of contemporary Hollywood romantic comedies to shame. I fear yet another unnecessary remake for suburbanites who cannot read subtitles..
Buenos Aires, what a city of love and tango and loneliness, what a black and white. The film has a beauty and has a silence of beauty.
I really liked the atmosphere of this film. Solitude, alienation, a little bit of gloominess reminds me Lost in Translation. But all in all, the whole film is quite vivacious. And of course, that Wally thing was very very cheerful.
The opening sequence alone makes it worth watching. What a love letter to our lives.
As observações sobre a cidade são incisivas e divertidas. Muita influência de Jacques Tati. Mas, ainda sim, é uma história de amor.
In addition to the average love-story this gives a nice view on Buenos Aires' varied architecture.
A modern, information-age tale of looking for love in post-GFC Buenos Aires. Medianeras (literally meaning parting wall) also muses on architecture and the current compartmentalisation trend of modern life. It's cute and thought provoking. 3 stars
This is THE romantic comedy of 2011. Loved the music, the acting and above all the way Buenos Aires is portrayed. Too bad it hasn't found a European distributor yet. Or has it?
