Good movie, violence was a little too cartoonish for my taste so it doesn't reach great, but still very good.
A return of mickey rourke deafening in a only and striking movie.
A success, of the light in the scenario everything is completed !
I like that.....
Modern noir. Stylish, gritty and fun. A couple of questionable casting choices but this does not prevent the film from being one entertaining ride, especially since there were a bunch of fantastic casting choices as well. Definitely one of Rodriguez's best.
Stylish, beautiful and horrific in equal measure. True to the original graphic novel. Mickey Rourke steal the show...and erm...Jessica Alba is drop dead gorgeous :)
oh common! I am dreaming to get the book and to have it laying on my desk
Masterpiece. I had the feeling to come back to my teen years, when I was reading with delight Will Eisner and co. Thank you for that.
brilliant artistic direction.
If we EVER get to see a second film, I damn well hope it's an adaptation of "Hell and Back".
This is Rodriguez's best film, and it deserves 5 stars.
loved the comics and loved the movie.
bir havası var ama çok iyi değil.
"All style, no substance." - That's exactly the point, just like in the Miller comics. This is a great pulp film, the best comics adaptation ever, and the only really good piece by Rodriguez ("Planet Terror" is ok), who is generally an average director.
Sin city is, visually, the best comic adaptation for the big screen by far.
Fantastic new still. Clive Owen is amazing.
Every time I watch this again, I remember exactly what it was that made me love it, that made me want to make movies. I cannot get over just how much joy I had seeing it for the first time, and the feeling I get from each re-watch. Just fantastic.
Savvy
I absolutely love the visual style of this movie. Of all the recent stylized adaptations of graphic novels in recent years, this was the best.
Anyone who hasn't read Frank Miller's graphic novels seriously can not look at this in the same way as someone who has. The sharp visuals instantly bring Miller's stylish art to life, and the characters are generally portrayed very well - especially Marv. Maybe it's because I've read the novels that I find this a truly excellent and entertaining work. 4/5.
I love Rodriguez and Tarantino, but this fell short for me.
Well it's very pretty, thats about it. Gets kind of dull after the first viewing. Has some cool moments though.
