Sleepy Eyes of Death: The Chinese Jade

Director Tokuzo Tanaka introduces audiences to his sleepy-eyed hero — the half Japanese samurai swordsman Nemuri Kyoshiro (Raizô Ichikawa) — in this first film of the popular Sleepy Eyes of Death franchise. When an enemy in need of Nemuri’s skills sends a young woman to seduce him, the cynical warrior finds his hard veneer cracking.
