Burton's take on the headless horseman tale is an inspired and macabre flick from one who specializes in such. Depp well cast and plays Crane in a somewhat effeminate way that works well in this setting. Exceptionally shot by d.p. Emmanuel Lubezki with top notch craftsmenship all around. Storyline gets a little away from itself towards the end but kept in check by the visual affect on the viewer.
good halloween popcorn flick. probably the stylistic prototype for all costume movies after 1999, fantastic music and cinematography
I have to watch it again. I found it a bit silly few years ago.
Perfect Burton/Depp movie. It still holds up after all these years.
One of Tim Burton's best.
A horror film done in Burton style and with Lubezki photographing. It certainly has atmosphere and results in an entertaining, pop-horror fun.
This was the last of Tim Burton's efforts I really liked.
I had to watch this film at age six because a boy from my drama school was in it. Scared the living daylights out of me!
I'll give him Ed Wood, but since then, Burton has failed to impress me.
I felt like a kid the whole time! The prime director of gothic fantasies.
è così, ma la verità non è sempre ciò che appare
I'm not a fan of Burton, and this isn't one of his best. I dislike how he takes all these great actors and doesn't use them to the extent they could have been: Christopher Lee, Michael Gambon, Christopher Walken, Miranda Richardson. But it is worth it just for Emmanuel Lubezki's wonderful cinematography. A DP far more talented than the director.
Enchantingly dark and comic. Love it.
my favourite movie of Burton all the scenes and the character of Mr Deep are very darks , is one aspect of the mind of Burton very cool , this guy know about this side of the human , yeahh i like it
Is like a fair tales of the darkness ...
Yes, absolutely Burton's best!
Great film, Burton's best in my opinion.
Some of Lubezki's best work.
