Synopsis

In 1969, as the sexual revolution gained steam, San Francisco effectively decriminalized hardcore pornography. It was the first city in the US to do so, and it turned San Francisco into a boomtown for sex. Smut Capital talks to the theater owners, film producers, and stars in an attempt to recreate a revolution that wasn’t televised, but screened. —Tribeca Film Festival
