not as bad as it could've been or as good. might be alright if you know nothing about the character. It's cool to see my favorite Robert E. Howard character finally on film and Purefoy does what a good job with what he's given. The origin story invented here only detracts from the best parts of the character. great opening scene, and it the appeal gets diluted from there.
