There's no aim in this film. Sidenote: Clement Metayer, the main guy, is a combination of Ryan Gosling and Ben Whishaw.

this movie is so amazingly beautiful and fresh! not as deep as The Dreamers for example but total pleasure for all senses.

A story where the details are everything and every detail is alive. The romance of the research. and not the pursuit of romance.

This story aimed at today's generation is a call to action, an invitation not to get lost in our generational status quo going in search of something to grasp in the air of our times. A research of his own individuality within right community values.

I disagree with all those saying on this wall that the film is rubbish. It doesn't celebrate or destroy the myths around the era, it just nuances them a little. It takes lots of freedoms, something I enjoyed very much. And I resonated with a lot of details of the characters, especially with the protagonist. (I got shivers when he said: "I live in my imagination. When reality knocks, I don't open.")I admire Assayas.

Absolute rubbish ! Nothing but disillusioned teenage angst. A bourgeoisie class's wet dream of '68 student revolution. I 'd rather re-watch OUT 1 than recommend this garbage.

This film has parts that are good and parts that are less so. Assayas was there to answer the personal questions about a film that was so semi-autobiographical. I most related to the bit where he became dislllusioned (if not utterly embarrassed) by leftist dogma...but then Punk Rock came along to free him and reconnect him to real world issues.

An absolutely enthralling look at the post-60s disconnect between art, politics, and love. It's been a long time since I left a theatre feeling this moved and inspired.

Not unlike a Godardian inspired Urban Outfitters ad, however, it is so blatantly personal that the film's imperfections (yes it has 'em) can be somewhat overlooked. It is criminally my first Assayas, but don't worry it won't be my last.
