Mágico. Mais um filme brilhante do Miyazaki — e uma obra de arte do traço japonês.
a very nice, weird & dark fantasy adventure - i had a nice trip into dreamland.
i remember being moved to tears when Chihiro finds out Haku is the spirit of a river.. it's just too beautiful.. beyond any kind of love i have ever seen.
I was 13 when I saw it, it gave me the chills. I remember how it made me feel that on the verge of growing up I hadn't yet left the land of fairytales, dragons, talking unicorns and monsters under the bed. I think it gave me something to hold on to.
It took me a while to watch this because of my personal hangups with "anime". A few minutes into the film and the hangups were gone. Spirited Away is a film thats constantly in forward motion, and that ends up being one of its greatest strength (besides the beautiful visuals). The music, animation, and story mesh so incredibly, and theres no greater example of that than the train scene. Now which Miyazaki film next?
Possibly Miyazaki's best film, and definitely one of the most expansive fantasy films of the decade.
Me and my best friend watched it together after he recommended it to me. I didn't know what to expect, but when it was finished he was asleep and i mouthed the words "thank you" towards him.
The first time I saw Spirited Away I was so overwhelmed that I rolled over on my bed and sobbed for about ten minutes after the credits rolled.
I'm probably in the minority in thinking that this is nowhere near Miyazaki's best movie. But then again, I'm a jaded cynic with a shriveled black heart who hates joy.
