St. Nick

In his gorgeously rendered first feature, writer-director David Lowery evokes the pastoral grandeur of Terrence Malick and David Gordon Green as a young brother and sister, played beautifully by real-life siblings Tucker and Savanna Sears, fend for themselves in the dangerous, unknown Texan landscape. Using sparse dialogue, Lowery composes St. Nick with a visual lyricism that lends it a dreamlike quality. –Saint Louis International Film Festival
