One of Ford's oddest yet greatest films. Ford stringing together so many oddball characters into such a unified reflection on America is really a sight to behold. One of the greatest testaments to Ford's sympathy for outsiders and the lesser known figures. At times it feels like Ford's purest comedy but that hardly hinders any of his any of insights. Masterpiece.
