It is true that Truffaut owns the keys to my heart. Antoine Doinel could be my soul incarnate. A smile from beginning to end.
Even Truffaut's trifles have great stuff in them. "I am definitive."
gosh, how closely and intimately i resonate with this "you're good for nothing" attitude of the adult world.. "well-intended, yet terrible" haha, that's as close as you can get to the skin of reality.
Stolen Kisses is a perfect title for this movie, because a stolen kiss is funny, sweet and adorable.
Antoine Doinel, Antoine Doinel, Antoine Doinel,...
Masterpiece no doubt. Jean-Pierre Léaud makes a fantastic work as usual. The scene in the bathroom is fabulous. I love how Truffaut portrays his characters' relationship with women.
There's no way I could possibly not fall in love with this masterpiece. It's so beautiful, the portrait of Antoine Doinel, after getting out of army. The relationships with women... That saga is absolutely fabulous. It does continue... Thank god! François was a genious!
God I love that picture [of Doinel in the mirror].
While not as good as The 400 Blows, this is still a great movie. Jean-Pierre Léaud was very charming, and Delphine Seyrig was fascinating.
Was a lot better than I originally remembered
Watch this before any Wes Anderson film and you'll see where it comes from.
Stolen Kisses may be my favorite of Antoine's adventures, although it's very hard to truly commit to just one.
FABIENNE TABARD, FABIENNE TABARD, FABIENNE TABARD, FABIENNE TABARD, FABIENNE TABARD!!
I wonder if I spoil the mood here by saying "Antoine Doinel, Antoine Doinel, Antoine Doinel, Antoine Doinel, Antoine Doinel, Antoine Doinel, Antoine Doinel, Antoine Doinel, ANTOINE DOINEL! ANTOINE DOINEL! ANTOINE DOINEL! ANTOINE DOINEL!"
Dull if you are in fact dull, fantastic if you are in fact fantastic.
Every episode here is so delightful. The final scene in the park is stunningly written.
