I think I’m imagining Madonna and some dude where Giannini and Melato should be.

One of Wertmuller’s finest, and most hilarious films. Ludicrously quasi-feminist Raffaela has all the stereotypical bourgeois northern prejudice towards the communist southern sailor, Gennarino. But on the island, an exaggerated animalistic attraction grows between the two. Both roles humorously represent two prominent, still existing, Italian socio-politcal groups. Wertmuller’s views are usually presented bluntly, and this is definitely no exception. Absolutely gorgeous camera work.
