i think more than a bit.if we compare old boy with this boring film know that chan wook is a great looser.
A bit long and slow, but this film benefits from a great and stylish direction by Park Chan-wook.
Morally muddled and cold as ice; tricks you into caring and punches you in the gut for it. Doesn't have the slick manga style of Oldboy or the Guignol beauty of Lady Vengeance, but it is hands-down the rawest, toughest bastard around.
Much better than Oldboy (oldboy is still great). It teaches the old saying of "Revenge is a game for the weak". I like how throughout the movie, wook tampered with emotions by making the audience feel bad for multiple characters.
In fact I'll go to the extent of calling this better than Oldboy because this works so well with out a solid script as a backbone.Hail Chan-wook park!!
It's not as upsetting as Oldboy in a visceral sense, but it's about as fucking mean of a film as I've ever seen. Wook is the modern master of tragedy in the classical sense.
Simplicité, ca me fait penser à les evenements pour se casser la tête, les plus cruelles situations que sont si poetiques.
Quando nostalgia, fragilità e dolcezza cullano la crudeltà e l'odio nero. Proverai compassione per i mostri?
