This is an interesting look at the Life and Times of car customizer/cartoonist Ed “Big Daddy” Roth. Through the use of many graphically enhanced photographs and “talking” cars, it is a loving look at the car culture in Southern California from the Early 50’s to Ed’s Passing in 2001. —IMDB
Maybe it did overdo it with the cartoons and cheesy talking cars, but this documentary hits its stride in tracing the impact Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's custom car designs had on popular culture at large. The graphic visual design was sometimes clever, sometimes annoying - and the rockabilly music got tedious after a while.
